Treat yourself to a sweet day in San Francisco! We‘ll begin with lunch at The Grove restaurant, where each guest may order and pay for their own meal, then head to Dandelion Chocolate for a guided behind-the-scenes factory tour. Sample chocolate along the way as you learn how cacao becomes artisan chocolate. The 1-hour walking tour requires standing, but anyone who prefers may leave the tour early to relax in the onsite café. During production, parts of the tour may be noisy; earplugs are available upon request. Afterward, we‘ll gather in the café to enjoy coffee, hot chocolate, or another sweet treat before heading home. Round-trip bus transportation from San Carlos and San Bruno is included.

Join Villagers and friends to start the week with a gentle walk. Enjoy conversation and connection - no challenging terrain - just a stroll together. If folks can’t make the whole distance, there are benches at various stops. Not suitable for those who use walkers as it is not paved but is well maintained. The pace can be very slow for those who need that. No hills to climb.
Meet at San Pedro Park visitor center in Pacifica. Each Monday at 11am.

Enjoy a scenic under-3-mile walk through Wavecrest Open Space, with beautiful coastal bluffs, sweeping ocean views, and abundant birdlife. Bring your binoculars for a chance to spot raptors and other coastal birds along the way! The trail is unpaved with gravel and some uneven surfaces, so comfortable, sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Dress in layers—coastal weather can change quickly.

Scams are becoming more sophisticated — and anyone can be a target. This session is designed to help Villagers recognize today’s most common scams, particularly those delivered through phone calls, emails, texts, and social media, and understand how scammers are using AI to make their messages and impersonations more convincing.

You’ll learn how to:
· Recognize common scams and warning signs
· Protect your personal and financial information
· Know what to do if you receive a suspicious call, message, or email
· Understand how AI is changing the way scams are carried out

Join us for a practical, informative presentation with Cassie Villar, with San Mateo County Adult Protective Services, who will share current examples, prevention strategies, and simple steps you can take to stay safer and more confident in today’s digital world.

Join members and their guests on a hike along the Pacific Ocean at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach. Bring binoculars and water. No dogs are allowed in the Reserve. Meet in the parking lot by the Visitor Center.

Writing and art are wonderful ways to reflect, remember, and express what matters most. Award-winning writer David will guide you through gentle prompts to write a letter — to someone, or something, that holds special meaning: a note of gratitude, a cherished memory, or words you‘ve long wanted to share.

Then, local mixed-media and fabric artist Ellen will guide you in creating a beautiful, personalized bottle to hold your letter. All supplies are provided, and no artistic or writing experience is needed—just bring your memories, imagination, and a willingness to explore your creativity.

Join Norman Weekes, founder of AI4SavvySeniors, for a practical, approachable presentation designed specifically for older adults. Learn what AI is, how it can be useful in everyday life, and how to use it safely and confidently. No technical experience is required.

Join us for an entertaining introduction to the History of Rock ‘n Roll! Explore how rock emerged from the rhythm and blues of the 1940s and evolved through Doo-Wop, early rock pioneers, and the rise of Elvis Presley. Along the way, enjoy stories, music, and a look at the artists and sounds that helped shape one of America’s most influential musical traditions.
This Coffee Connection will also introduce a new monthly Villages Interest Group for rock ‘n roll fans. Beginning the following month, the group will meet regularly to take a deeper dive into each decade of rock history, share favorite artists and songs, and enjoy the music together. Come learn more and see if this new group is for you!

Join your fellow Villagers for an exciting day at Oracle Park to cheer on the San Francisco Giants! Enjoy the sunshine, the energy of the ballpark, and the fun of watching the home team in action. Complimentary tickets have been generously provided by the San Francisco Giants.


Please note: This outing requires a significant amount of walking, including getting to the ballpark, navigating the stadium, and reaching your seats. Participants should be comfortable walking longer distances and managing stairs or inclines as needed.

Mid-Peninsula Village members and volunteers - We‘re having an informal social event so we can relax together, and get to know each other a bit more! This is a Drop-In Dinner (i.e. pay for your own meal). Please bring cash as each person will be paying their own bill and they need cash to do so.
